No preparation is required for your first session! I will guide you through the online counselling video platform and introduce you to the process. We’ll review important details together, such as confidentiality, my background as a therapist, and what brings you to counselling. This will also be a time to address any questions you may have.

You can easily cancel or reschedule your appointment by updating your booking through your client profile in JaneApp or emailing me directly with at least 48 hours notice.
The full session fee will be charged if a session is cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice or missed entirely. Last-minute changes leave a gap in my schedule, and the time I spent preparing for our session could have been used to support another client. By maintaining a consistent schedule, I can offer all my clients the best care possible.

Confidentiality is held in the highest regard in my practice. Anything discussed before, during, or after our sessions will not be shared with anyone without your written consent. I will also not disclose your connection to my practice without your permission. All online sessions are encrypted and password-protected. However, there are four situations where I may be required to break confidentiality:
If you’re going to hurt yourself or someone else
If I suspect or you disclose neglect/abuse involving a vulnerable person or child
When a client’s records are subpoenaed by court order
If there is a medical emergency in session, I will contact emergency services on your behalf should you be unable to respond.

I do not bill directly to insurance providers, but an invoice will be provided to you after each appointment so you can submit it to your insurer for reimbursement.
